I invite you to participate in a positive learning environment with my art students at Surabaya International School in Surabaya, Indonesia. Together we will engage in significant discourse in a virtual art classroom and critically reflect on our practice as an artist, as well as what our role is as a global citizen.
In our international art exchange, we will focus on the following questions throughout the art-making process:
1. How do I identify myself within my community, school, and society?
2. How do I identify myself within my national culture and how do I identify the cultures of others?
3. What occurs when I explore globalization through visual culture in my daily life?
4. What happens when artists communicate & exchange ideas with another person on an international level?
My students and I invite you to visit their blog pages to view each individual student’s artwork, along with their artist statement. Additionally, please critique the student’s artwork by leaving a comment in the comment box.
Thank you and enjoy!
